This summer Habitat for Humanity Iqaluit will once again be celebrating the start a new Habitat build with a Midnight Sun Build on June 22nd. This fourth Habitat home in Iqaluit will not only result in a new home for a Nunavummiut family, but will also act as a celebration of the work that is currently being done in Nunavut to combat its housing shortage.
Working till midnight, teams of volunteers will take advantage of the midnight sun to build a home for a local family. We will begin the day at noon with a barbecue and entertainment and will close this unique event at midnight, with another barbecue and celebration. This year, we will be joined by two Global Village teams at the Midnight Sun Build. Global Village volunteers travel all over the world to work on Habitat builds. This summer, over 60 Global Village volunteers will be travelling to Iqaluit to work on Habitat Iqaluit’s fourth house.
